Terms of Service

The rules for using FTL.

Last updated: October 26, 2026 (Lifetime replaces the yearly plan) · Version 3.5

The plain-English version

A parent (18 or older) sets up the account and chooses a plan. The first 7 days are free, with no card. After that, you either pay once for Lifetime, which never renews and gives full access for as long as Foundation Tennis Lab is offered, including new lessons and features we add, or choose a monthly plan, which renews automatically each month until you cancel, and you can cancel any time from your Parent Portal. Lifetime can be refunded in full within 10 days of the payment. Prices are in USD; sales tax/VAT is added at checkout where it applies. New subscriptions are sold through Link (Stripe) as the seller of record. Children use the app through the parent's account. Coaches get a free Coach Portal. Don't copy our lessons, don't cheat the leaderboard, don't try to break the app.

1. Who we are and what you are agreeing to

Foundation Tennis Lab ("FTL", "we", "us") is operated as a sole proprietorship by its founder from Vaughan, Ontario, Canada. Contact: Foundation Tennis Lab, 2916 Highway 7, Unit 219, Vaughan, Ontario L4K 0K6, Canada · phone +1 (715) 388-3396 · [email protected].

By creating an account or using FTL, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information and your child's. Coaches who join the Coach Referral Program also agree to the Coach Referral Program Agreement. If you do not agree, please do not use FTL.

2. What FTL is

FTL is an app that teaches the off-court side of tennis to junior players ages 8 and up: where to hit, how to handle pressure and mistakes, rules and history, patterns of play, at-home athletic exercises, film study and post-match reflection. Lessons are short, tapped-through and quizzed.

FTL is not technique coaching and is not a substitute for lessons with a qualified coach. It is not medical, psychological or sports-medicine advice. If your child has a physical limitation, an injury or a medical condition, ask a doctor before they do the Athletic Exercises.

3. Accounts

4. Free trial

Each new account gets 7 days of full access to the kid app, starting when you add your first child. No payment details are needed for the trial. When the 7 days end, the eight plan worlds pause until you choose a plan. Nothing is charged unless you choose a plan. Trials are for new accounts only; deleting and re-creating an account does not start a new trial.

5. Plans and prices

PlanChildrenLifetime (one payment)Monthly
Individual1$79$9.99
Familyup to 3$149$19.99

Prices in USD. Sales tax/VAT is added at checkout where it applies, and the total is shown before you pay. Checkout may show the price in your local currency. Both plans include all eight plan worlds, every new lesson we add, the Parent Portal and the monthly report.

Lifetime is one payment, not a subscription: it never renews and nothing more is charged for it. It gives your family full access for as long as Foundation Tennis Lab is offered, including new lessons and features we add. It belongs to your account and can't be transferred. If you have Individual Lifetime and need more spots, you can upgrade to Family Lifetime for $70 (USD), paid once.

Ace's Film Room and Athletic Exercises are free for every signed-in family, are not part of the paid plan, and stay open with or without a subscription.

We may change prices. We will email you at least 30 days before a new price applies to your account, and the new price takes effect only at your next renewal after that notice. If you do not want to pay the new price, cancel before the renewal. A price change never affects a Lifetime plan you have already paid for.

Early access price lock. If you subscribe during our early access launch, you keep the price you signed up at for as long as your subscription stays active, and the price change rule above does not apply to you. If you cancel and later subscribe again, the price at that time applies.

The Coach Portal is free. There are no paid coach plans.

6. Billing, Lifetime payments and automatic renewal

Lifetime is charged once. When you buy Lifetime (or the upgrade to Family Lifetime), you authorize the seller of record (see below) to charge your payment method one time, for the amount shown at checkout. It does not renew.

A monthly subscription renews automatically. When you subscribe monthly, you authorize the seller of record (see below) to charge your payment method on the day you subscribe and again at the start of each new month, until you cancel. The amount and the billing period are shown on the checkout page before you pay and on the receipt we email you.

Your consent and reminders. Before checkout, the Plan screen in your Parent Portal shows your plan’s price and asks you to tick a box agreeing that it renews automatically (for Lifetime: agreeing to a one-time payment that does not renew); we keep a record of that consent.

Who sells the subscription. Payments are handled by Stripe. New plans (Lifetime and monthly) are sold through Link, Stripe’s payment service, as the seller of record (Stripe Managed Payments): Link charges your payment method, adds and pays the sales tax/VAT, sends your receipts and invoices, and handles payment questions. Your card statement shows LINK.COM* followed by our name, and you can also manage the subscription at link.com. Link’s own terms apply to the payment; FTL still provides the app and is responsible for it. Subscriptions that started before October 2026 continue with Foundation Tennis Lab as the seller.

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. If a payment fails, Stripe retries for about 7 days and we email you; if it still fails, your child's access pauses until you update your payment method, and no further charges are made.

You can change a monthly plan (for example Individual to Family) from "Manage plan" in your Parent Portal or by emailing us. The timing of the change and any pro-rata charge or credit are shown before you confirm it. A monthly family can switch to Lifetime on the Plan page: when the Lifetime payment goes through, the monthly plan stops at once, and the month already started is not refunded. Individual Lifetime is upgraded to Family Lifetime on the Plan page for $70, paid once.

7. Cancelling and refunds

These refund terms do not take away any rights you have under consumer-protection law where you live, including the Ontario Consumer Protection Act and, if you live in Quebec, the Consumer Protection Act of Quebec.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

If you break these rules we may warn you, remove content, or suspend or close the account. If we close an account for a serious breach, we do not refund the current period.

9. Content and intellectual property

10. Third-party services

Videos in Ace's Film Room and Athletic Exercises are embedded from YouTube and belong to their owners; YouTube's terms apply when a video plays. Payments use Stripe, and new subscriptions are sold through Link (Stripe) as the seller of record. "Sign in with Google" uses Google's sign-in service. We are not responsible for these companies' services, and their own terms apply to your use of them.

11. Changes to the service

We add, update and sometimes replace lessons and features. We may change or remove parts of the service, and we will try to give notice of significant changes. If we ever shut FTL down, we will email you at least 30 days in advance and refund the unused part of a Lifetime plan bought in the last 12 months, counting the payment as 12 months.

12. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time under Settings in your Parent Portal or by emailing us; your children's information is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy. Deleting your account ends a Lifetime plan; it is not refunded after the 10 days in section 7. We may suspend or close an account that breaks section 8 or that we reasonably believe is being used for fraud.

13. No warranty

FTL is provided "as is" and "as available". We do our best to keep it running and accurate, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that every fact in every lesson is complete, or that your child's tennis will improve. Nothing in this section takes away warranties you have by law, including the warranty under Ontario’s Consumer Protection Act, 2002 that services are of reasonably acceptable quality.

14. Limit on our liability

To the extent the law allows, FTL is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from your use of the service, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or takes away rights you have as a consumer under the laws of the place where you live.

15. Disputes and governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If you have a problem, email us first and we will try to sort it out within 30 days. If we cannot, either of us may take the dispute to the courts of Ontario. If you are a consumer, you may also bring a claim in the courts of the place where you live, and any rights you have to do so under local consumer-protection law are not affected. We do not require consumers to arbitrate.

16. Changes to these terms

If we make a material change to these terms, we will email account holders at least 14 days before it takes effect and show the new date and version at the top of this page. If you keep using FTL after the change takes effect, the new terms apply. If you do not agree, cancel before then.

17. Notices and email

We send account, billing and legal notices to the email address on your account, and you agree to receive them electronically. Keep your email address up to date. You can write to us at [email protected].

18. General

The Parent Portal and some of our emails can be shown in other languages. These terms are written in English, and if a translation ever says something different, the English version is the official one.

If any part of these terms is found invalid, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later. You may not transfer your account to someone else. We may transfer this agreement to a company that takes over FTL, and we will tell you if that happens.
